NABERS program increasing to 6 stars

Commercial office buildings has exceeded the current NABERS rating scale, therefore the NABERS program has implemented the increasing of the rating scale to 6 stars, as of the 18th of August.

10 Years ago when the program was established, a goal of 5 stars was completely reasonable. With the advent of new technology and increased architectural design and building materials, commercial office buildings are meeting the energy efficiency challenge and going beyond the measurable 5 stars in performance.

All ratings may now be calculated to identify if they exceed expectations and qualify for an above 5 star result and will be identified as market leaders.

A 6 star rated building is awarded to Market Leading performers, and represents a 50% reduction in GHG emissions from a 5 star result.
