Carbon Offsetting

Carbon dioxide emitted into the atmosphere through our lives can be neutralised with carbon offset credits. These offsets represent a reduction in carbon dioxide through government approved projects. Purchasing a carbon offset is paying for the reduction of 1 tonne of carbon dioxide.

When you create 30 tonnes of carbon dioxide a year, carbon offsets can then be purchased in the amount of 30 units. So you have then offset your emissions through the same amount of carbon dioxide reduction in a clean project that reduces or stores CO2.

Consumers and businesses can choose to offset as a means of becoming carbon neutral and support the growth of carbon capture or storage projects.

Why offset?
Consumers and business are becoming more aware of the impact their activities have on the environment. Global warming, social behaviour and government policies are driving the need towards energy efficiency, sustainability and clean energy growth.

Consumers and businesses offset their emissions to be more environmental and to support the growth of projects that reduce CO2 levels in the atmosphere, with a goal to become carbon neutral.

Offsetting to become carbon neutral will also gives consumers and businesses the ability to support green initiatives. Whilst developing a more environmental image for themselves, businesses can utilise this image to give them a competitive advantage and help grow their business through carbon neutral promotion internally and externally. This will also help in developing social responsibility within the organisation.

As many of our essential practises in life produce carbon dioxide, we can now offset these emissions to become more environmental and carbon neutral.
